Having our portraits taken by Jim Johnson took place as a wonderfully
rich, engaging, and fun dialogue. He let us play, interact, and be
ourselves while he took photos. He talked to us and asked us
questions to get us in the right frame of mind. He asked us only to
do what felt comfortable and was laughing right along with us while
he worked. The photo session lasted a couple of hours but we had such
a lovely time that our three girls didnt seem to mind or even be
aware of the time.
Prior to our photo session, Jim met with us twice. The first time was
in his office to show us samples of his work and to find out what
kind of photos we wanted - not just who would be in the pictures and
where we would want them taken, but what kind of mood did we want to
come forth in the pictures. The second time we met with Jim, he came
to our house and met the rest of our family. He talked to our
daughters to get a sense of their personalities and to find out their
interests. He also took a walk with us down to the location. When we
saw him the third time, for our photo session, he knew all of our
names and seemed to have a good feel for the entire family.
The process of having our photos taken by Jim was just as delightful
as the portraits it produced. Jim Johnson is a treasure just waiting
to be found.

wedding day! Looking through our album was like reliving the day. Our
families have been blown away, too. You made my dad's 60th birthday
unforgettable. Not only was I able to surprise my parents with my visit

You photographed our wedding in Bluemont, VA in May 2001. We love all
our pictures and friends always compliment them! We are living in

order a few more pictures before leaving. And second, you had told us
at the time that it may be possible to have our negatives - given that
we have no idea when we will be back in the US.

I was wondering how far back your catalog of wedding photos goes. My
wife and I wed on October 14, 1989! Everyone we've ever shown our photo
album to loves the pictures and we cherish our album to this day. The
one thing we never did was get a large wall sized print. Are prints
available from that far back? Thank you for your time and I hope we're
lucky enough to finally get that large wedding picture!

I got married June 7, 1998 in Maryland, and you were the photographer
at my wedding. I still have the wonderful proofs that you provided to
