of America International, Jim Johnson is one of the top photographers
on the East Coast. He has photographed members of Congress, US
Presidents, and Broadway stars, all in his insightful style of
photography that captures an individual's spirit.
The winner of many national and international
photography awards, Johnson's enchanting photographs speak directly to
the viewer. Going beyond merely recording a subject, his work reflects
an individual's spirit suspended in time. "I try to produce photographs
that have a life of their own," Johnson said, " portraying the human
experience that will continue to live and bring people pleasure."
A specialist in portrait and wedding photography,
Johnson has captured personalities around the nation's capital and
nationally, spanning the gambit from paupers to Presidents and
countless weddings.
Known for his unobtrusive presence, Johnson is

A native Washingtonian, Johnson earned BS and MS
degrees from Howard University. He left an engineering position with
the US Environmental Protection Agency more than two decades ago to
follow his heart into photography. The recipient of many national and
international awards, he is a Certified Photographer and received his
Photographic Craftsman Degree from the Professional Photographers of
America International in recognition of his service to the photographic
profession as an speaker, author, and mentor. Jim is also known
internationally as a
speaker and seminar presenter.
